Now

Inspired by Schlaf’s and Derek Sivers’ Now pages, this is what I'm up to currently. It’s a public declaration of priorities. A nice reminder for myself. It helps me to say yes. It helps me to say no.

Life

  • Answering the call to let my creative inklings and yearnings take over this year. Letting myself roam far and wide. Not questioning. Knowing that the “nose knows”.

  • Being present and accessible for a lot of relational work. With my husband, with my kids. There’s a sense of new possibilities opening up; a new hand being dealt.

  • Extending last year’s highlights of time spent with my girls - another book in the making, 1:1 dates doing stuff we both enjoy, craft and cooking projects, reading Polish books. Letting them guide me.

  • The year already started with a lot of travel - Austria, Jamaica, two trips to SF. And looks like this trend will continue. Acupuncture has been a meaningful way to reground myself after too much commotion.

Learn

  • Going through Jhana retreat by Rob Burbea on my own cadence - i.e. not a retreat container, but impactful nonetheless. Really enticed by the idea of being able to at-will tap into different levels of consciousness. Not there yet.

  • Joined Jonny Miller’s Nervous System Mastery program after many, many years of debating whether I should. Partly to solidify some of my previous learnings, partly to experiment with new practices, but mostly to pull my husband into “my world” and have a joint adventure.

Health

  • Concerning blood work is making me rethink my laissez-faire approach to eating, at my age. This is no longer about “project slenderize”'; it’s now about avoiding a genetic predisposition. All that will be taking up a lot of my mental energy.

  • Got back into running! 1-2 a week, only 5k at a time, but feels so good.

  • Working out 3-4 times a week. Added reformer pilates to my routine to help with my lower back pain (post injury last fall).

  • Hiking 1-2 a week. Trying to do at least one hike per week with my girls, who have become amazing hiking partners.

Work

  • Changed jobs at Visa - moving into a corporate strategy role, new challenges, smart people.

  • Coaching a select few clients.

  • Meditating in community.

  • Occasionally writing on amble.

  • Hosting a “Home Group” for Aletheia, “my coaching alma mater”.
